Blasting a hole in the community
As a result of this expansion, the surrounding community will also experience a huge backlash. Nelson aggregate is planning to purchase the Burlington springs golf course which many people have come quite fond of over the 60 years of its existence. One problem from this expansion will be water usage, nelson aggregate will need huge amounts of water per day around 375 million liters in fact. These massive amounts of water will dry up many of the neighboring houses’ water features which is considered property damage. Another major issue that local people will have to endure if the expansion comes to reality is the blasting effects, the detonating noises won’t just be a disturbance but will cause shattered basement windows and bursting pipelines in and around a 2.5 km radius of the site.
Never-Ending Traffic
Additionally, trucks filled to the brim with aggregate will crowd the roads, plus dust from the gravel will cloud the air making traffic a true nightmare.
